A Little Introduction
Hello! Welcome to my blog and my very first post on here. I’m Aina, in
my mid-20, and from Malaysia, born and raised here. And I have an
oily skin. Important bit to know.
I’m not exactly sure if this would be a full-time skincare blog. Honestly speaking, I just want a platform for me to talk about all the skincare products that I’ve used and/or am using. I can’t really articulate myself well in front of camera (and people, too, for the matter), so making a YouTube channel is a no-go. I don’t have accounts on TikTok and Instagram, so social media is also out. And that left me with blogging option, and I like the idea. Except for the fact that I have a history of having a few blogs before and then abandoning and deleting them afterward. But that’s a story for another day.
Disclaimer: I am absolutely not an expert whatsoever in skincare. I’ve
only begun my skincare journey last June in 2023 (better late than never,
right?). Before this, all I ever did to take care of my skin was just facial
cleanser. I popped my pimples with my definitely-not-clean fingers and I didn’t
even wear sunscreen. My pores were so large and my skin was so greasy. Not to
mention, the hyperpigmentation and the scars and redness. It was wild.
Now that I have a solid skincare routine and never forget my sunscreen
whenever I’m outside, I have become more aware of my skin condition and am constantly
learning about it so I better understand how to treat and care for it. What’s
left for me now is to search for products that can help my skin become even
better and track my skin progression in a way, hence this blog.
My goal with the skincare side of the blog is to hopefully write an
in-depth review for all the products I’ve used, to share my personal thought on
them, why I like or dislike them, the texture, the ingredients, everything. The focus would be more on local products like Safi, Aiken, Ruruberry, and The
Raw (as well as some of the Indonesian brands) since they’re more accessible
and affordable for me. So, if you are a fellow Malaysian with oily skin like
me, I hope you find something useful here. If you are not (a Malaysian and/or
don’t have oily skin), I hope you enjoy your stay here regardless.
Thank you for reading! Hopefully I can see you in the next post. Bye!
